Places In London With Outdoor Dining This Summer
Outdoor Dining
Outdoor dining has become so much more popular since Covid 19. It is safer to sit outside and to be honest it is more enjoyable. But outdoor dining isn’t just for the summer. We have also used outdoor dining in the autumn and early winter sat around a patio heater. It is cosie than you think. As we have just started going to London after all of the lockdowns, outside dining is now what I want to do. It is easy to find somewhere that has outside dining by popping over to the Square Meal Website.
Using The Square Meal Website
When you open the website, you can filter the choices down to find somewhere that offers outside dining, and also find somewhere that fits your budget. As well as filter down the food that you want to eat. Then you just book your table at the restaurant, and it is all done for you. No need to call them directly. We wanted to share with you some of the restaurants in London that we have used that offer outside dining.

The Lighterman
The lighterman can be found in Granary Square in Kings Cross. So we can eat as soon as we step off the High-Speed train and fill our bellies. As well as the outside dining, there is also a terrace and rooftop area too. The outside area is ready for all-weather with parasols for the summer and heaters for the winter. The menu offers a wide range of meals from traditional fish and chips to burgers. If you are vegan or vegetarian, there is even a good menu selection for you. The Lighterman is open from lunchtime until 11 pm, so you can go for a meal before catching a late train home. Dogs are welcome too. The meals are of an average budget for London and range from £30 to £50. Barge East If you are looking for something out of the box, then Barge East is for you. What could be better than eating on a barge in Hackney Wick, watching the world go by? You are within walking distance of Stratford stations, Westfields and Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Take a look at the photo’s of the fun barge on the website.
The restaurant ticks all of the boxes with outside dining, child friendly and both vegan/ vegetarian meal options. Barge East was bought over from the Netherlands and it is a 114-year-old cargo boat. As my son lives in the Netherlands, and we have barely seen him over the past few years, this restaurant makes us feel closer to him. The menu does change occasionally, which is awesome. Nobody wants the same food all of the time. You can have something light for your lunch as you pass by, Or you can go mid-morning and have a bottomless brunch, finished off with a few cheeky cocktails.
Scott’s
Scott’s in Mayfair is one of the more expensive places to eat on our list of outdoor eateries. But it offers the most elegant food to eat. Scott’s promises that you will have a fantastic time when you visit there. With its central seafood bar that is stacked with ice and seafood. The restaurant has a very ’20s feel to it. As you sit outside in the sun, this summer you can watch the world go by. The staff in the restaurant make you feel excited and at home. You would expect to pay about £50 for a meal here but it is special and well worth the visit.

Seabird
Can you imagine, sitting on the terrace of Seabird on the 14th floor of the Hoxton Hotel. Just think of the amazing views you will see whilst you dine outside enjoying a meal and a few drinks. You can find Seabird in Southwark, London and you manage to get views of The Shard, The Thames and The Houses Of Parliament. What a perfect place to go on a dateSeabird has the longest oyster list in London and seafood is the main food on offer here for hungry guests. This is a very on-trend restaurant to go to and everyone chooses to meet here and catch up over something to eat. The restaurant also caters for vegetarians, vegans and gluten-free. So whatever your dietary needs are, they will try and help you. It is open every day from lunchtime until midnight, so there is plenty of time in the day to go and enjoy a meal and a drink. Enjoy, Where ever you go
Finding somewhere that you want to go, that caters for all types of diets and families isn’t always easy. But with Square Meal, helps me find a restaurant close to where I want to be. It helps me to know the budget and what is available on the menu. It also lets me know whether children are welcome to the restaurant. And more importantly, which ones offer outside dining for the summer (or winter). Also after everything that we have been through, we need to get out and go for a nice meal – for our own mental health.
