Five Awesome Ways To Feel Better On A Stressful Day
It’s Jennie here from jenniepennie.com and this blog post will be all about de-stressing with some simple tips. If you are having a stressful day, either from a day at work or at home then carry on reading some of my top tips to de-stress! Some of these tips are the things I do to de-stress, depending on the situation. During the pandemic, I think it has become important for a lot of people to take care of themselves, not just physically but also mentally too. So here are 5 ways to feel better on a stressful day:
Journal
Journaling is such an amazing way to write down your day, review what has happened, the good and the bad. Sometimes writing down a stressful day can make you see the problems in a different way. You can look back and see what you can change next time something happens. Journaling before bed can also help you sleep better! Offloading on a piece of paper and closing the notepad can feel like an end to the stresses and therapy without judgment from other people. Journaling can also help you look at what went well with your day, instead of looking at the problems of the day. You will be surprised how much good came from the day.
Take a walk
This has to be my favourite way to de-stress! Go for a walk either on your own or with friends. Take headphones and pop on a podcast or some music, take a look around you and deep breathing. Walking is a great way to get some exercise in, fresh air and a nice break from your routine. Walking can really help you look at any problems of the day and come up with solutions. Usually, I go for a walk with my dog and listen to podcasts too.

Watch some funny YouTube videos
If you are really having a tough time, then watching some funny Youtube videos can really help you put a small smile on your face. It can help lift your mood and it makes you take a small break from whatever you are doing. Taking breaks from issues you are trying to resolve will help you to think more clearly when you come back to it. Just make sure you have a timer of an hour or so, otherwise, you will be watching Youtube videos all day!
Have a hot bath
I love this one! A hot bath with some bath salts or a bath bomb, face mask on and relax. Hot baths can really help your muscles to relax and if you are using bath salts with some lavender then it will really help you to de-stress. You can have some calming music on or just silence and really let yourself relax. This usually benefits me on an evening before bed, it helps you to sleep better. When you are stressed your muscles will tense, so having a nice relaxing bath to relax those muscles will really benefit you.

Call a friend To Help You Feel Better On A Stressful Day
Sometimes the above just won’t cut it and you need someone to speak to. Be that for a chat, help to resolve issues or another opinion to think about. Calling a friend can really help you, choose wisely depending on the situation but having a friend at the other end of the line to talk you through the issues or to just listen then it will be such a relief. Like the quote goes “a problem shared is a problem halved”
Conclusion
I hope some of these tips will help you to de-stress on those days you need it the most. Taking care of yourself should be everyone’s priority and as I’ve mentioned a few times, looking after yourself mentally will help you look after yourself physically too. Why not implement one or all of the above into your weekly routine and see how this can help you.
