Are you counting down the days until the Easter holidays? We have just over a week left until the kids finish this term and then they are home with us until after Easter Monday. Have you planned what you are going to do with your kids, over the Easter holidays? Or are you going to wing it? Winging it always used to work for me, but it is also good to have some Easter fun for kids sorted out as a backup too.
Have An Easter Egg Hunt With A Twist
No Easter celebration is complete without an egg hunt, but why not give it a fun twist this year? Instead of the usual hide-and-seek for chocolate eggs, try these creative variations instead.
Have an Easter egg hunt with clues and riddles. Write simple clues or riddles to lead your children to the hidden eggs. This encourages problem-solving skills for them and can keep them busy. Whilst you sit and have a coffee. You could have an Easter egg hunt with a special golden egg prize. As well, as hiding normal eggs, you can hide a special golden egg with a surprise prize inside. Add a small toy or a voucher for a fun family day out. For an evening egg hunt, use glow-in-the-dark paint or LED eggs. The glowing eggs will create a magical experience your kids will never forget. If your children have a favourite character, or movie that they love, you could even base your Easter egg hunt around that.

Crafting is a fab way to spend quality time with your kids while letting their creativity shine. Here are some easy and fun Easter craft ideas to try with them. It doesn’t matter what level they are at, all crafts are special when we make them with our kids. You can make Easter bunny masks, by using some paper plates and cutting them into bunny shapes. Then cover them in cotton wool balls and colour the masks in with your kids. You can get a simple bunny template online or use your artistic skills and draw one freehand. Boil some eggs, and give the kids some coloured pens, paints, glitter and stickers. Get the kids to decorate them. Lastly, you could grab your craft box and create an Easter wreath as an Easter decoration. Use pastel colored paper, artificial flowers, and ribbons. Bake Delicious Easter Treats As Easter Fun for Kids
Baking is a fantastic way to bond with your kids and teach them valuable skills in the kitchen. Plus, who doesn’t love a sweet treat? Here are some simple Easter-themed recipes to try with your kids over the Easter holidays. Kids love to bake, whatever their age, and there is always something age appropriate for them to make. Make some Easter bunny cakes with your kids. You can either bake a batch of cupcakes or buy some ready-made cakes from the local supermarket. Then it’s time to decorate them with bunny ears made from marshmallows or fondant icing. Add a cute bunny face with icing for an extra touch. You can also use sweets like candy lace to make whiskers
You can make some Easter cookies as some Easter fun for kids this year. They are easy to make by using a bunny- or egg-shaped cookie cutter to make cookies. You can add some pastel colours to the mixture, to add some Easter colour to your cookies. Let your kids go wild with colourful icing and sprinkles to decorate them. Chocolate Easter nests are probably the most popular of Easter baking treats. They are so easy and quick to make. You need to melt some chocolate, then mix it with Cornflakes or Shredded Wheat. So make them more chewy, add some golden syrup, then shape them into little nests. Add mini eggs on top for a quick and tasty treat.

Host Some Easter-Themed Games
Turn your garden or living room into an Easter wonderland with some fun and energetic games. Arrange a play date with some of your kids friends and get them burning off some energy with Easter games. You can even share some of the Easter goodies, you have baked!
You can get the kids involved in an egg and spoon race. Substitute the real eggs for small balls if you want to. Or use some plastic eggs that you can buy from craft shops or Pound shops. You can get them playing Pin the tail on the bunny. This is a great alternative to ‘pin the tail on the donkey’. you can use cotton wool balls as the bunny tail and you can draw a bunny on a chalkboard, or piece of paper stuck to the wall. Blindfold the kids and see who puts the tail in the right place. You can also play hopping games like a bunny. Get the kids to hop like abunny to the finish line and see who the winner is. Games can be adapted to the age of the children.
Planting A Mini Spring Garden Is Easter Fun For Kids
Kids do love to help with gardening, this is a great way to get them involved. Spring is a season of growth, making it the perfect time to introduce your kids to gardening. Planting a mini garden is a fun and educational activity that teaches patience and responsibility. Here are some gardening ideas you can do with your kids. Firstly they can decorate their own plant pots, give them a terracotta pot and some pens, crayons and even stickers. Then give them some quick growing seeds or buy flower plants to replant in their pot. Encourage your kids to water and care for their plants, watching them grow over the weeks.

Easter Fun For Kids With An Easter Photo Booth
Capture the joy of Easter with a DIY photo booth. Set up a simple backdrop using pastel-colored sheets or paper, and add fun props like bunny ears, oversized carrots, and Easter baskets. Let your kids take turns being photographers and models. This is a great way to encourage creativity and create keepsakes to look back on. You can also buy some Easter props from Poundland or Amazon and use these too. If you get a photo printer, they can print the photos out straight away. Or give them a kids camera to take photos.
Give Back With An Easter Donation
Teach your kids the importance of kindness by creating Easter baskets filled with goodies to donate to a local charity or homeless hostel. Involve them in picking out items and decorating the baskets. You can do this really cheaply from places like pound shops. This activity not only spreads joy but also teaches them valuable lessons about giving back to the community. In my local community the funeral parlour collects Easter eggs for local kids charities. Our food banks also help with collections and distributions to people in need.
Before you know it, the Easter holidays are going to be over. But you will have loads of memories to share together.
