Peppa Pigs Surprise Review

What Are you taking the little ones to see at the theatre this festive season? I took Tilly to see Peppa Pig's Surprise on Friday at the most beautiful theatre, The Duke of York Theatre in London.

We arrived with the many other eager children waiting in anticipation to see their idol, but what I wasn't ready for was the amount of grown ups getting ready to enjoy thew show. We have all seen the Channel Five adverts with the parents that talk about Peppa Pig with such enthusiasm, well it was like that at the theatre and yes - maybe for a quick moment I was as excited as Tilly to be here.

We bought a spinner with lights, that Tilly enjoyed waving around throughout the show, and at £8 I thought this was a very reasonable amount to pay. In theatres before, we have paid almost as much, just for a flag. Keeping the costs down for parents like this is such a bonus.

Your directed to your seats and made to feel comfortable ready to wait for the start of the show. There was a lot of interaction with the children ( and parents) and they had to look out for the characters, Telling Peppa's friend Daisy when they saw them. There was a game of hide and seek that the audience joined in with and lots of singing (with words for us parents).

We enjoyed the anticipation of the surprise that Daddy and Mummy Pig had organised for Peppa and George and we listened to a bed time story. I am not going to tell you what the surprise was because then it wouldn't be a surprise would it? The characters are life size puppets and Mummy and Daddy Pig are characters dressed up. Tilly believed that they were actually real characters!
There was an interval half way through the show, which made it perfect for toilet breaks for the little ones and a drink or snacks for everyone. There were also staff members selling show goodies from the sidelines for the children to use throughout the show. There is nothing worse than sitting down and then the child deciding they want a show souvenir.

I am not going to tell you too much about the show because it will spoil your enjoyment of waiting to see it, but I would recommend you take your little ones to go and see Peppa Pigs Surprise. You can buy tickets here and the show runs at the Duke Of York's Theatre until 17th January 2016 so there is plenty of time to get in to see it, after that it continues the tour of the UK. Little Miss Tilly recommends you visit this show for Christmas.

Right at the end of the Christmas show, we all sang a Christmas song, Santa Claus came on to see the children and then It snowed in the theatre. It made it such a magical moment and added a little sparkle to a trip to the theatre.
