Roald Dahl's Fantastical Characters Books From McDonald's

Trying to get Tilly to read is extremely hard because of her dyslexia, I am not using it as an excuse but when numbers and letters are jumping about on a page, you wouldn't want to read either would you? So I try to encourage her to read whenever I can. I am really happy that McDonald's have put books into their happy meals for the next few weeks and you can collect the whole set of 8. The books are inspired by the Roald Dahl stories of Matilda, The BFG and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. They are small paperback books containing the fantastical characters, that also have stickers and quizzes in them. Which kid doesn't love stickers?

The books are short versions and they focus on one character from the stories. You will get one with your child's happy meal in McDonald's and I think it's a great way to promote reading amongst the countries children, they are after all our future, so encouraging them to read is important. Tilly is super excited as there is a Matilda book and that is who she was named after. The books are exclusive to McDonald's, so you really need to make sure you get the whole set because they won't be around again!  You can find more details at mcdonalds.co.uk/happymeal and get to see the cool boxes that the happy meal arrives in too.

McDonald's has welcomed Roald Dahl books into the Happy Readers campaign and it is a partnership with Penguin Random House Children’s UK, the Roald Dahl Literary Estate and the National Literacy Trust. Over the years, McDonald’s has offered some of the UK’s best-loved family reads from Dorling Kindersley’s ‘Amazing World’ series to Enid Blyton’s ‘Secret Seven’ and Jeff Kinney’s ‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid’. So there has been something for everyone over the years. The thing that I like best is that we all know Roald Dahl from when we were younger and we were drawn into his magical world, now I have the chance to join Tilly on her journey into her own little magical world. The books are available now and will be available for another 4 weeks.

Even Peter Andre has got his own kids, Princess and Junior collecting the Roald Dahl books with their happy meal. Have you got yours? Don't forget they are only around for a short time only! I expect these will be really popular.
