The EasiYo Way To Make Yogurt

EasiYo have been helping us mums make homemade yogurt at home for 23 years and they are now featuring their first design in the brand history with the launch of a new red maker. Now making yogurt is not a thing I have done in the past as I thought it was easier to buy from the supermarket along with the rest of my shopping. But after I was given an EasiYo yogurt maker, I can say that I will be making yogurt more often.

EasiYo's new red maker is swish and sleek but so simple to use, even my 5 year old helped me along the way! There are no moving parts in the maker and there is no electronics, its easy to clean after each use and it fits well on your kitchen shelf. The redesign also includes a change in the insulation, now they use New Zealand wool instead of the old polystyrene insulation, this will help to keep the yogurt at the right temperature during the fermentation process.
When you make the yogurt at home, you your completely in control of what goes in to the yogurt like the additives, flavours and artificial colours, so all you get from the home made yogurt is goodness. EasiYo is also gluten free and vegetarian friendly. Sachets can be bought from places like QVC, Wilko, Lakeland, Holland and Barrett and online at easiyoghurt.co.uk.

It is so easy to make the yogurt, This is all you need

The yogurt maker
An EasiYo jar
A sachet of mix
Room temperature water
Boiled water from the kettle.

Half fill the jar with room temperature water and add a sachet of the yogurt mix. The thing I love about this is that there is no actual measuring. Its all about half filling the bottle and later filling to the top of the jar

Shake the jar until all the powder has dissolved and then fill it to the the top of the jar. there is a fill line on the jar to make it easier.

Then all you need to do is add boiling water to the EasiYo yogurt maker, making sure you only fill to the fill line inside and then you place your yogurt inside before closing the lid. Leave it for 8 to 12 hours, or over night. We found it easier to leave it overnight because 8-12 hours is a long time to wait when your inpatient like us.

When we removed the yogurt in the morning, it looked as if it had curdled but it is fine.As I had never made yogurt before, I wasn't sure if it should have curdled but I went to the FAQs page on EasiYo. We stirred the yogurt and popped it in the fridge for a couple of hours before adding some peaches and eating.

You can make many varieties of things with the yogurt, you can turn it into a dip by making Homous or you can add cereal to make it a healthy breakfast. You can add peanut butter to make it a dessert, or even lemon curd. make small desserts like this and pop them into shot glasses to serve after dinner or at parties.

The new red yogurt maker will be available from September 2015.

TIP** The yogurt is so easy to make and if your not sure about how to do it, there is a step by step guide on the back of the packet of mix.
