Welcome Back To Yonderland On Sky One

Last weekend we were so very honoured to be invited to a special preview showing of Sky Ones production of Yonderland. The programme is returning for a second series following the success of series one (available on DVD, Catch up and Sky 2). We got to meet the actors and puppets from the show and even enjoyed a Q and A session after the showing.

Simon Farnaby
The programme is created, written and starring a cast of 6 people who won the hearts of the viewers when the first series launched in 2013. Mathew Baynton, Simon Farnaby, Martha Howe-Douglas, Jim Howick, Laurence Rickard and Ben Willbond have once again succeeded in bringing first class entertainment to our screens.

If your not familiar with Yonderlnd, I will quickly explain the story to you. In series one Debbie Maddox, an average Mum of two kids suddenly discovers that the kitchen cupboard has become a new and different land. She is taken beyond the portal by a helpful Elf, and a grumpy talking stick called Nick. she is soon to discover that she is the chosen one who's coming was written, and only she can save the people of Yonderland. So in Series 2, here she is again - Debbie the chosen one once again finds herself in Yonderland as she is trying to sort out the problems of the absurd and wonderful world in her kitchen cupboard.

The Detective
In this new Series, Debbie's husband is getting increasingly suspicious of the happenings in the kitchen cupboard. There are even strange goings on in the house after Debbie's receives a mystery box containing a message and a mysterious creature, who decides to explore when Debbie goes out one day. So Debbie finds it hard to keep her home and family life normal whilst battling the evil overlord Negartus in Yonderland.

Yonderland is a Working Title production and returns to our Sky One screens on 13th July 2015. If you like horrible histories, then you will love this programme, It is full of jokes for children and also the odd joke for adults. This programme is perfect for people of all ages. Tilly is 5 and understood the programme (although I wasn't sure she would). Yonderland is a laugh a minute and full of jokes and references to things that only adults will understand.

Tune in to Sky One on Monday 13th July at 8pm for the first two episodes.

  1. Looks like a great event. I've never seen this show, although it does look interesting x

  2. This sounds like a great series, I haven't seen the first as I don't have Sky.
I feel like I'm missing out on so many good tv shows!
