My Experience

I love this hostel! when i booked it i was weary of booking a youth hostel abroad, yes i have seen the Hostel movies! But i came across this one on Booking.com and it looked pretty and i got a good vibe.

The Youth Hostel is a walking distance from the train station but it is up a steep hill! There is a shop below the youth hostel so you can buy things to eat there and you can cook it in the hostel kitchen.

I was told to book a single room as Tilly is a child and they don't charge for children. They told me that all the single rooms have four beds in them anyway. The people in the hostel are fluent in english and when it says that the hostel is the friendliest one around, they really are! They went out of their way to help us.

There is WIFI in the rooms that have their own bathrooms (we booked a room with a bathroom as it was easier than having to go to a shared toilet with Tilly) The room is spacious and there was a 32 inch tv in our room. Most of the Norwegian channels have english speaking programmes, so if you can cope with norweigan subtitles, then you wont be short on things to watch.

The Hotel is decorated in what i can only describe as shabby chic, its beautiful. Its filled with odd second hand furniture and everyone of the plates at breakfast was odd! it makes a refreshing change to everything having to match. There was also a park for kids to play in.

Definitely give this hostel a go :)

It cost me £160 for two nights and we booked through booking.com, Hotels are very expensive in Norway, but this is worth every penny
